SplitCourts: a better way to find drop-in and public badminton games

If you’ve ever searched where to play badminton, drop-in badminton, or public badminton events near me, we just shipped something
on SplitCourts that should make that a lot easier: Public Events.

Until now, a lot of badminton games were effectively hidden inside private group chats, club circles, or invite-only communities. That works if you already know people. It’s not great if you’re new to the area, getting back into badminton, or just trying to find more regular games.

With Public Events, organizers can now make specific events discoverable without exposing their whole group. That means players can:
- find upcoming public badminton events
- see whether registration is open or the session is full
- request to join without already being in the organizer’s private group
- check event details before showing up

We were careful about privacy here too. Public events do not expose the organizer’s private group or attendee identities to non-
members. The goal is simple: make it easier to find badminton games and join public sessions, without turning private communities
into fully public directories.

This feature is especially for people who are asking:
- Where can I play badminton?
- How do I find drop-in badminton?
- How do I join badminton games if I don’t already know the organizer?
- How can I tell if a badminton session is full before I go?

If that sounds relevant, go check out SplitCourts. It's the best way to find and host your badminton games.
