I came up with an amazing Kenshi theory:

What if skeletons are still capable of being created during second empire, but it’s the CPUs, power cores and eyes that were a problem to manufacture?

Think about it. In the vanilla game we can go make robotics that surpass the capabilities of the original skeletons in game. How can it be that with limited resources we as a group of couple newbies are capable of making robotics that are better than the skeletons that are supposed to have been made back in THE first empire? 

My theory is that it was simply impossible to manufacture CPUs due to the Kenshi not possessing necessary metals to make them. Same with power cores too. Power core is a battery with a nearly infinite amount of storage capacity and longevity, which I imagine are not made out of just copper and steel. Not even lithium batteries or lead acid batteries can hold that amount of energy for long amount of time. Therefore they use some sort of a science fiction mega super duper element and/or alloy in their production that just doesn’t exist on the planet Kenshi. 

And from that comes to explain why when resetting in lore, skeletons also reset their basic attributes like strength, dexterity and toughness. It’s them actually RECONSTRUCTING their entire body from the beginning, and only implanting the cpu into the new body.  That’s why it’s a lie that their memory resets, it’s only the mind and skills do.

Therefore it explains why the Second Empire’s Armoires have Security spiders and why Cleanser units are commonly used in the Ashlands. 

Security spiders were basically guard dogs with more simplified minds and constructed from just copper electronics., explaining why even to this day some people use security spiders are in use by skeletons and more. 

Iron spiders were the working drones for heavy duty mining and possibly warfare. Again, with simplified minds and constructed out of simple materials that were available on Kenshi. 

Same for the flying iron spiders and why like drones in the sky, they are maintenance drones of the SECOND Empire, not the first. 

Cleaner units are different too. Correct me if I’m wrong, but they have only ai vores as a drop right? Ai core is an imitation of a CPU, yet again not as perfect as the original CPUs. They were probably used for group control with spraying water at protestors, and later possibly changing to flamethrowers, getting their name from all of the people they have CLEANSED. 

Why are the CPUs less valuable than the AI cores though? I think that’s because of the fact that AI cores are more useful right now then the CPUs, yet making sure tech hunters actually get all the CPUs they can to sell and keep the minds of the skeletons.
