Hiding youtube shorts

Hi, a bit of a newbie here so I apologize if any of my questions sound dumb.

I tried to disable/hide shorts from my feed/home etc which largely works, but shorts still show up in my search results when looking for videos.

I know I can just filter for videos, but doing that for every search seems suboptimal, and the minimum shorts time limit seems to be 15 mins for me instead of 0.

I saw a few comments here saying to try the universal revanced manager, or to downgrade to patchers version 6.0. May I know how do we downgrade and if it worked for anyone?

I patched yt version 20.40.45, with revanced patches at version 6.2.0

Not sure if there are any updates coming soon or solutions for these versions
