Hard to take Pokémon VGCserious

watch so many videos on how to optimally play a team into a meta game.

turn 1 perish song , my gengar dies to a weather ball that’s not even super effective or a crit. I made the pokemon that would have one shotted both my mon flinch.

if you can only play rock slide spam and charizard / basculegion. then the games a joke. there is 0 skill in praying rock slide makes everything flinch. the fact people act like this is chess mixed with other skill based games is insane. You are playing a children’s game, that at the highest level, is still very simple. The gto is click rock slide.

I want to enjoy this like I use to competitive MTG. I want to meta game and enjoy the fruits of learning the counters to the meta. it’s just so unfun to lose to the current meta. so learning another promim strategy (perish) when it just losses to a non super effective weather ball, feels really bad.

im going back to rock slide spamming with the broken fish on my bench. would much rather play an interesting strategy, but rock slide spam is insanity. kills any chance pokemon has at being a true skill based game.
