Does my pet have a pollen allergy?

Community Feedback

Hey everyone, I'm sure I'm not the only one enjoying spring, but I think it might be hitting my cat a little differently this year. Recently, I've noticed he's got watery, reddish eyes and is scratching way more than usual.

We've ruled out ticks and he just seems a bit off and tired. So I'm starting to suspect he might have developed a pollen allergy, even though he's never had one before. I've already got a vet appointment booked so let's see what comes out of it.

In the meantime, I thought I'd make use of my Tractive tracker since I can check out my cats usual hiding spots to see if there may be any possible high-pollen plants like lilies, tulips, or daffodils where he likes to nap. I know of one particular spot where we have planted some tulips and he may have actually sleeping there more than usual. It got me wondering if any of you are going through the same thing.

Some classic signs for allergies that I've been looking out for are:

  • Watery eyes & runny nose 💧
  • Constant sneezing, coughing or head shaking 🤧
  • Excessive scratching or chewing on their paws 🐾

Has anyone else here dealt with an allergic cat or dog? Any tips you have for managing their symptoms would be amazing!😊
