I built a small subtitle tool for FCP and would love feedback from editors

Workflow

Hi everyone,

I’ve been editing in Final Cut Pro for a while, and one thing that kept bothering me was how much time subtitles can take, especially when the goal is not a full video platform workflow, but just getting clean captions into an FCP project.

So I built a small Mac app called Final Caption Pro, focused only on that part of the workflow.

The main design choice was to keep it narrow:

  • subtitles only, not a full editing suite
  • local/offline processing where possible
  • no uploading project files to a server
  • output that is meant to fit naturally back into Final Cut Pro

I’m not trying to pitch this as some “AI magic” thing. I mostly want to know whether the workflow feels useful to real FCP editors, and what would make it less annoying in day-to-day editing.

Here’s the App Store link if anyone wants to take a look: https://apps.apple.com/cn/app/final-caption-pro/id6743959267?mt=12

If anyone here is willing to try it and give honest feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I can also DM a few promo/test codes to people who want to spend time testing it properly.

And mods, if this kind of post is not appropriate here, please feel free to remove it.
