Vaseline acting as sunscreen?

I've been using some vaseline on my face lately, also not leaving the house, but I've noticed alot of my freckles are really faded now.

Despite sticking around very persistently prior. Could just be hormonal? I've only been inside for the past few days (previously I was walking in the sun almost daily).

Could also be that my skin is properly moisturized.
