A solitary musician, a part of an almost genocided profession in the world of clair obscur, hears a melody coming from a discarded canvas in a dark alley.

See, the musicians power is to bring other to life (see how french the metaphors can be?), so the guilds of the clair obscur world killed most of them fearing they'll fall under control of their enemies.

But a hermit musician hears Lune's music living in a scrap remaining from the burned canvas, something he can only hear, and makes Lune the avenging supervillain of the discarded and forgotten art, and the lumierians, which are treated as tools but in-universe seem to be real and capable of research and art.
