My fiances brother wins brother of the year.
To preface, the title is sarcastic. Sorry for mobile formatting issues. For background, I (25F) have always had issues with my future BIL J (22M). Hes selfish, misogynistic, and regularly pisses my fiance S (26M) off, beyond the typical brotherly shit. But this takes the effing cake. My fiance has been married before, but she demanded a combined bachelor/ette weekend. So S was really looking forward to his bach this time. When I picked my weekend, S told his boys they would plan for the same weekend. We planned over a month in advance, to give both groups time to save, schedule time off, etc. I heard him tell the guys what weekend. One friend didnt get the PTO request in and now its too late. But his brother has decided to take a cross country trip to meet his "girlfriend" for the first time. They had planned for later in the summer but spontaneouslydecided to move it up, no reason given. My fiance doesnt really have any other friends local. All he wanted was to go fishing with his boys and play poker. S hasn't said much but I can tell he's disappointed. I want to make him feel better, but I dont know how. Any advice? He gets along with my dad and cousin decently well, and they both like those things. Would I be doing too much if I asked them to plan something for him? Is it worth asking one of my girls if she has any guy friends local who'd be willing to take S out?
TLDR: my fiances groomsmen bailed on bach weekend, and I wanna make him feel better, while also strongly resisting the urge to smack the shit out of his brother.
