Data destruction compliance is becoming a headache

One thing I didn’t expect managing IT was how much documentation companies now expect for disposing old equipment.

We recently had to provide proof of destruction/recycling for retired hardware and it turned into a bigger process than expected. Ended up learning a lot about R2 certifications and ITAD vendors during the process.

We used TechWaste Recycling for part of it and the paperwork side was honestly the most useful part.

Feels like e-waste compliance is getting taken way more seriously lately.
