Anyone else have trouble with emotions in relationships?

Discussion

I’m pretty good at spotting people’s hidden intentions, motives, etc but I seem to be horrible at catching on to emotions from people. TBH to most people it’s not even a hint, it’s obvious, only to me is it something that I have to decode. So I’ve accepted that I’m not good with dealing and recognizing how people actually feel.

However when I’m in a relationship is where I feel guilty. I miss so many emotional hints for validation, reassurance, and whatever else, and on top of that when someone is emotional with me, relationship or not, the first thing my brain does automatically is look for underlining meaning, intention, manipulation, and if I can’t figure it out (which is bound to happen since I’m over here trying to logically analyze an EMOTION) it makes it near impossible if not impossible to manipulate me emotionally but also makes it difficult for me to connect with others emotionally, which I think is important. With most ppl idc, but if it’s a girl I’m with, then I do care because it makes me seem way colder than I actually am since instead of me understanding how she feels, I focus on logic rather than the emotion behind it.

Truth be told everyone thinks I’m a cold emotionless person but they still admire me because I’m fair and just with them (which is due to my detachment from emotions controlling my judgement). Truth is I’m not anywhere near as cold as people think lol, I’m just not good with other people’s emotions, which makes me seem colder than I really am. I feel emotions like anyone else, I think I just subconsciously don’t trust other people’s emotions.

What are your experience with this? Do you guys find yourself too detached from other people’s emotions or what
