Habla español

What is with the people on marketplace who ask Habla español, or will only communicate in Spanish?
Very often, someone will say Habla español, I politely respond, no, I only speak English, please translate.
And they never respond again.
My ad is entirely in English.
I have no problem with someone who speaks Spanish, or doesn’t speak English, but why not use Google translate to message me in English? That’s what I would expect to do if I went to Mexico and tried to buy something, I would not expect them to speak English.
