Interviewer ditched me because I didn't suck up and tell them I would reject Microsoft to stay in their company
I was a junior at the time, recently hired by a new employer. I receive an interview invite from a big company in a sector I am very interested in (IOT).
Leaving the current employer wasn't my first thought but you never know.
The interview starts, me and HR chit chat for a bit, she has a big smile on her face. She asks "why do you want to leave *my then employer*?". I respond :"I don't necessarily wish to leave, I just think highly of your company and didn't want to miss the opportunity to have a call".
Her smile drops. She asks me "if we were to hire you and 2 months in Microsoft called, would you leave us too? I am sorry, even if I did want to move you forward, my supervisor would cut you immediately for this".
Three years later and I am still not over that interaction. What the hell was that? I know we are supposed to kiss ass during interviews but for the love of me, give me a damn break.
