Best resume builder for students 2026

For students and recent graduates, the hardest part of building a resume usually isn’t the format, it’s figuring out how to present limited experience in a way that still feels strong and relevant.

I’ve seen a lot of tools used for this, but they don’t all solve the same problem.

1. Kickresume
This is the one that tends to work best when you’re starting out and don’t have a lot of traditional work experience. Instead of just giving templates, it actually helps you structure your experience in a way that makes sense to recruiters. It’s especially useful for turning things like part-time jobs, internships, group projects, or university work into something that reads more professional. The biggest difference is that it helps you think in terms of impact, not just tasks, which is usually where students struggle most.

2. Zety
Very step-by-step and easy for beginners. It helps you build a resume quickly, but the phrasing can feel quite generic unless you spend time editing it yourself.

3. Canva Resume Builder
Good for design and visual presentation. Very simple to use, but it doesn’t really guide you on how to improve the actual content.

4. Resumeio
Clean and minimal templates. Works fine if you already know what you want to write, but it doesn’t add much guidance.

5. Novoresume
Helpful for structure and section guidance, especially if you’re building a resume for the first time and aren’t sure what to include.

At the end of the day, most tools just help you organize information. The real difference comes from how clearly you can show value, even from small experiences.

For students, what’s harder, deciding what to include on a resume, or figuring out how to write it properly?
