Hey, I really enjoy reading all the kind and creative suggestions in this sub, so I’d love to get your input on how to best arrange our future living room. We found our dream apartment to rent as a small family (me, our little daughter and my partner). The living room is about 31 square metres / 335 square feet.

There are three main furniture pieces that we already own and need to include:

1. A round dining table that can be extended when we have guests. We’d like to place some kind of storage nearby for plates and tableware to make setting the table easier. We use the table for other stuff between meals (my daughter and I do a lot of crafting) so we’ll need additional storage for clearing the table before meals.
2. We have a large couch that we love and want to keep. We sometimes use a projector with a roll-up screen for movie nights. We don’t want or need the screen to be permanently visible and both the screen and the projector have different mounting options. I’d really appreciate suggestions on where/how to position both the couch and screen so this works well.
3. The main "problem": We need to integrate a small workspace (shared desk for occasional remote work) without it becoming too visually dominant. My partner also uses it sometimes for gaming in the evening. We’d be open to using a screen or room divider if needed.  Has anyone found a good way to “hide” or visually soften a workspace in a living room? A few additional things to consider:

We’d prefer not to place the couch too close to the radiators, because that would reduce their efficiency.

There is a terrace access through the kitchen, but I would like to keep one  pathway/connection from the living room as well - if possible.

For storage, we already own IKEA Ivar shelves and like them a lot. We’re considering adding more modules—possibly even using them as a room divider for the workspace.
I am open to any ideas—layout concepts, zoning ideas, furniture placement, or even things we might not have considered yet.

Thanks so much in advance!
