I had one of the most vivid and disturbing dreams of my life last night, and I genuinely woke up questioning reality for a while.

In the dream, I was riding a bicycle through a mountain road when I suddenly came across a place that felt strangely familiar — like I had been there before in other dreams. At the top was a small temple carved into the mountain wall. People were worshipping Shiva there. The idol wasn’t large or grand, just carved directly into the stone, but the entire place had an overwhelming energy.

Everywhere around the temple was dense jungle. It was beautiful and peaceful, but at the same time deeply unsettling. The air itself felt heavy. Some people were performing rituals that felt tantric in nature. I remember talking to the priest calmly, almost like I belonged there, and telling him: “I’ve seen this place in my dreams before. I’ll come back again.”

But something about the place terrified me.

There was food laid out — chicken curry and other dishes — and although I noticed vegetarian food too and stayed a little longer, the atmosphere became stranger. Families in the village suddenly started cooking their own meals even though food was already prepared. Everyone acted normal, but I felt like something was deeply wrong underneath it all.

I got scared and tried to leave, but somehow forgot my bicycle. Instead, I found myself climbing a narrow staircase inside a stone structure. Every few steps there was a sharp 90-degree turn. Through tiny windows in the wall, I could still see the rituals happening below.

I kept climbing forever.

No matter how much I climbed, I realized I was walking in circles. I couldn’t scream. I couldn’t escape. Eventually, someone noticed me and pulled me out of the loop.

That’s when I woke up.

But I was still exhausted, so I fell asleep again… and the dream continued in the exact same place.

This time I wasn’t alone — I was there with people who felt like my friends. They were friendly with the villagers, but I was completely focused on finding a way out. Eventually I found an exit and started running. The villagers noticed and began chasing us.

I remember drums, loud instruments, chanting, people running after us through the mountain paths. I warned a woman working nearby about the mountain people, and the moment I did, she became terrified and ran with her child.

Then everything got worse.

My friends were caught behind me. One of them suddenly turned against me and started chasing me too. I kept running, taking random turns, hearing drums and footsteps behind me. At one point he was inches away from catching me.

After that, I started seeing his face in everyone around me.

That fear felt unbelievably real.

Then I woke up for real.

I’ve had vivid dreams before, but this one felt ancient, symbolic, and horrifying in a way I can’t fully explain.
