Does anyone else lose deal momentum after "send me a quote"?
One sales pain I don't see discussed enough is the dead zone after a prospect asks for a quote.
The buyer is interested. The timing is good. Then the rep has to dig through a spreadsheet, old proposal, price list, product notes, discount rules, and maybe wait on someone else before sending anything polished.
By the time the quote goes out, the energy has cooled.
Then follow-up is mostly guessing:
- Did they open it?
- Did they forward it?
- Are they comparing options?
- Did the quote even answer the thing they cared about?
I'm working on qraft, a tool for turning a price list and a short job description into a client-ready quote link with view tracking. The idea is not "AI closes the deal." It's more: help the rep move faster when the buyer is already asking for numbers.
Curious from people here:
- Is quote turnaround actually a painful part of your sales process?
- What slows it down most: pricing, approvals, product selection, formatting, or follow-up?
- Would a quote link with view tracking help, or would your buyers still expect a PDF/proposal doc?
Not dropping a link because I'm looking for workflow feedback first.
