Idea for a new game mode

Fan Content

I've always dreamed of a game mode, still with 4 survivors, of the "Survival/Adventure" type, but purely hide-and-seek style. Let me explain:

Basically, imagine the map is a kind of large factory. Survivors start in Zone A of the factory. The goal here would be to perform various QTEs on different objects (control panel, lever, button, etc.), in order to unlock the next zone. Depending on what the survivor does, the QTE (or other mini-game) would be very different, and always with the stress of having to hide from the killer.

Unlike the classic game mode, survivors would be able to protect themselves from the killer here, for example by closing doors with a padlock, pushing a shelf against a hole, etc. Better yet, they would be able to temporarily "injure" the killer (single-use firearm, bow and arrow, crossbow, melee axe, etc.), forcing the killer to temporarily retreat to heal, but only "one weapon" per zone. And one could imagine that using weapons is very difficult / you need to know how to aim

Once the survivors unlock the next zone (let's call it Zone B), the QTEs/mini-games would be harder, there would be fewer hiding spots, fewer ways to protect yourself from the killer. We can imagine the game mode having three zones (A, B, C), plus a final zone where you'd need to open a door (or something else, like instead of a door, what if survivors had to simultaneously perform a QTE together, That way, it will force teamwork all the way to the end. And if a survivor is missing, the QTE will just be longer, or have to be done twice for example).

For this game mode, you could imagine the entire map being really dark, to enhance the survival/horror feel. And the survivor, unlike in the classic game mode, could only be injured once. The second time, they die β€” which would REALLY force survivors to hide and stay stealthy.

As for the killer, they could for example activate traps in the upcoming zones (B and C), or reset them in previous zones, and even use unique killer abilities. For instance, all survivors are in Zone C, but to complete that stage they must backtrack all the way to Zone A to reactivate specific QTEs. The killer would therefore be able to plant traps back in the first zone to catch them off guard. Or for example, in zone C: a survivor is put in a cage, activating a secret door in zone A, which forces one of the other survivors to go back to the very beginning in order to activate a secret button unlocked in A. Oh, and obviously, in this game mode, the killer makes absolutely no noise at any point (no terror radius whatsoever) β€” you'd only detect them by their breathing, basically β€” in order to reinforce the constant stress.

Obviously, survivors will make "noise" sounds for the killer (sprinting, failing a QTE, knocking something over).

Other ideas for this game mode πŸŽ‰

A : In this mode, the flashlight would no longer be used to blind the killer, but to see. The map being plunged into darkness, each survivor would have a flashlight with a limited battery. Using it too freely would attract the killer (the beam visible from a distance), but playing in total darkness in some ZONE would also be risky.

B : The killer could modify the environment throughout the match: barricade a corridor, turn off a light source, lock a hiding spot that has already been used. This would prevent survivors from comfortably settling into a routine.

What's your opinion ?
