Transferring data from an old PC to a new one

Question

Sup guys,

I recently got a new PC and I’m trying to set it up exactly like my old one. To start, I connected the 1TB SSD from my old computer to the new one.

I initially tried to copy all the folders from the old drive to the new one in one go, but that was a mistake. The system just hung indefinitely—it seems like it can't handle transferring that many small files at once. I’ve managed to copy the most essential folders manually, but there is still a lot missing, especially all my files and folders for FL Studio.

As far as I know, I’ll need to reinstall all my VSTs and plugins from scratch so the system recognizes them properly. That already took a huge chunk of time yesterday, and I’m planning to continue after work today.

Does anyone have tips on the best way to handle this data transfer? How should I approach this so I don’t end up spending the entire day on it?
