First time hackathon, what to expect?

My first hackathon is next week and I’d like to get insight from more experienced people. Especially what kind of environment to expect, how to collaborate well, how to contribute when your teammates are much experienced than you, and what’s the current meta with hackathons. Any other insight and advice are much appreciated.
