We made a tool that helps you while you're writing on Overleaf formula snapshots to LaTeX, writing ideas, and chat with your paper
Hey folks,
So we built this thing called Overleaf Assistant and thought some of you might find it useful.
Basically it sits alongside your Overleaf workflow and helps you out in a few ways:
Formula Image → LaTeX — Got a formula in a textbook, a slide, or some random PDF? Just snap a picture and it gives you the LaTeX. No more Googling weird symbols one by one.
Writer Mode — Stuck on what to write next? It looks at your paper and suggests sections to add, helps you expand ideas, and keeps things moving when you hit that wall at 1 AM.
Chat Mode — You can literally ask questions about your own paper. Like "did I mention X anywhere?" or "what's a good way to frame this argument?" — it reads your document and answers right there in the chat.
Nothing fancy, just trying to cut down on the tab-switching and make the writing part a little less painful.
Let us know what you think — always looking for feedback on what would actually be helpful.
Cheers!
