*Euphoria* is one of those shows that’s impossible to watch casually..it’s visually gorgeous, emotionally loud, and it hits you with chaos from the first episode. It follows Rue and this whole orbit of teens dealing with addiction, trauma, sex, relationships, and identity, and it’s filmed like a music video had a nervous breakdown (in a good way). Zendaya is the anchor, and when the show is focused on Rue’s addiction and recovery, it’s genuinely powerful.

The good: the acting is top-tier and the show has moments that feel painfully real..especially around addiction, grief, and the way people hurt each other while trying to survive. The cinematography, music, and makeup are iconic for a reason, and some episodes are straight-up art. The bad: it can be *a lot*..sometimes it feels like it’s pushing shock value or lingering too long on scenes that don’t need to be that explicit. The storytelling can also be uneven; certain characters get deep emotional arcs while others feel like they’re there to keep the drama running. And sometimes you’ll finish an episode like “that was incredible” and also “why do I feel dirty now?”

Overall, it’s a show I both recommend and warn people about. If you want something intense, stylish, and emotionally gripping, it delivers. Just don’t go in expecting a realistic depiction of average high school life... think heightened, exaggerated, and sometimes exploitative, depending on the moment. It’s messy, addictive TV… kind of like the world it’s portraying.
