90 day breakdown of building a 10 dev India bench

Detailed breakdown of the 90 day plan we ran to build a 10-dev India bench for a client engagement.

Days 1 to 14:

• Defined 10 roles, JDs, interview rubrics
• Signed up with Wisemonk for employment infrastructure
• Set up hiring pipeline through LinkedIn, referrals, niche job boards

Days 15 to 45:

• Ran interviews, rough funnel was 120 applications, 40 screens, 20 technical rounds, 12 final rounds, 10 offers
• Offer to acceptance rate, 100 percent, because our process was tight
• Wisemonk generated employment contracts and handled onboarding paperwork

Days 46 to 75:

• First 5 devs started, two-week staggered starts
• Onboarding program, client context transfer, equipment, and access
• Senior dev mentored juniors in pair programming

Days 76 to 90:

• Full 10 devs active
• All on client project work
• First sprint retrospective completed

Total cost, about 50k USD including Wisemonk fees, salaries prorated, equipment, and our internal time.
