A steam mop is the best thing I've ever bought
Mopping has always been the worst (imo). I have a top-rated spin mop but it leaks everywhere, the head looks gross after the first use, it doesn't have nearly enough texture/stiffness to really scrub up a mess, and worst of all it has to air dry before it can be put away, which takes forever. (I envy those of you with broom closets—I live in a small apartment and my cleaning equipment shares a space with my clothes, where a wet mop has no business.)
Enter the steam mop I bought on a whim at Goodwill for $12.
Life-changing.
Mopping is now basically just like vacuuming: plug it in, scrub the floors, put it away. Could not be easier. The pads are actually able to cut through spills and grease, and they're machine washable and reusable. And the steam is insanely effective at cleaning, miles beyond my spin mop or (wildly ineffective) Swiffer.
The only potential downside I see is if the mop itself eventually stops working, like if the steam lines get clogged. Time will tell. In the meantime, it's a perfect product imo.
Highly recommend this as an option for people who similarly hate mopping and have tile flooring.
