Graphic designer to UI/UX

I’m new to ui ux.
I am currently working as a graphic designer with almost 4.5 YOE and I feel like I wanna learn more about ui and ux, go in depth, challenge myself and learn something new. However, I keep being told “ai will take over ui ux, don’t waste ur time and money on it”

I really am keen on learning and hopefully transitioning into UI/UX. How to do ui/ux work. Can someone help me figure out how to get there??
