Is it reasonable to ask for a raise after being moved to a different role due to re-org?

Work & Professional Growth

Problem/Goal: I’m wondering if it’s reasonable to ask for a raise after being moved to a different role due to a company re-org.

Context:
I work in a BPO company where I report directly to the foreign HQ, while the local company mainly handles admin-related matters. I got hired late last year, and my 6th month is approaching.

The project I was originally hired for will be closed after 6 months because of a company re-org. However, they were really happy with my performance and wanted to retain me. The catch is that the new role is completely different from what I originally applied for.

It’s now more of a PM role, and the scope/tasks will be very different from my original role. For context, I have around 3 years of experience and currently earn 65k gross monthly.

Previous Attempts:
- I already accepted the role temporarily because I didn’t want to risk being floated or losing the opportunity.
- I haven’t brought up compensation yet since I’m not sure if asking for a raise in this situation is normal or reasonable.
