Need help building my first deck

I was gonna make a deck using "Akul the Unrepentant" Im really new to this so i barely know any cards. I know i want stuff like sol ring, command tower, dual lands, etc... but i dont know what i should look for to pair with him. I was thinknig of doing a deck that can play creature tokens so i can use Akul's ability without needing to sacrifice actually worth cards. Some card recommendations would be nice so i can get the gist of it and build from there. I was wanting it around a 2 or 3 bracket rating so i can lend a precon to my friends and for it to still be fair.
