I recently watched Made in Abyss and I was in absolute awe regarding character and beast designs. These are a couple of my favourite designs.

I just think their designs are incredibly creative, often combining features of multiple animals while having their own special skills and abilities.

**Turbinid Dragon** \- The Turbinid Dragon is said to be resentful and territorial. It's about 20-22 meters tall and has a carapace made from poisonous scales. Lastly, a Turbinid Dragon can spit a liquid containing metal and stone, which explodes on impact and sends the stone and metall flying everywhere.

**Corpse Weeper** \- They are huge, carnivorous bird-like creatures who will capture a human/(prey in general) and mimic their cries for help in order to lure other prey to them. You might think they have three eyes, but they don't. They have 2 eyes, 1 left and 1 on top of their head.

**Orb Piercer** \- The Orb Piercer resembles a grizzly-sized porcupine with a bowling ball for a head. It can sense the Force Field of the Abyss, therefore it can anticipate further movements made by it's prey. It's territorial and able to fatally wound anything in the 4th layer of the abyss using it's long sharp needles which can be shedded.

**Hamashirama** \- While Hamashirama are much less dangerous than the other creatures on this list, they can still defend themselves by spraying a paralyzing mucous on their attackers. They live in the sea of the 5th layer. Outside of water, the wrinkly part behind their eyes blows up, making them look like a balloon.

**Stingerhead** \- These 2 meter tall scorpion-resembling creatures have seven tails, each of which contain a bone and flesh melting venom. As if one of these creatures wasn't deadly enough, they live in colonies and hunt together too.
