IB Workshop Leaders: what should I know before applying?

Can someone enlighten me on the ins and outs of applying for and being an IB workshop leader? Anything one should know? What qualifications or experience are they looking for? Does region matter?

I've read it's "well-paid" but that contradicts what one of my workshop leaders said. For context, I've been an examiner before and loathed it. Not my cup of tea. Is workshop leading a similar grind or a different ballgame entirely?
