IEM recommendation
Hey everyone,
I'm currently looking for a new IEM. I own the KZ ZSN PRO and KZ ZAS. I haven't used any other IEMs besides these, so I'm relatively new to the hobby.
Now I'm looking to buy a new model and upgrade. Here are my preferences:
- I really dislike an intimate or narrow soundstage where the music feels claustrophobic.
- With my current IEMs, when a drummer hits the cymbals for example, it sounds way too piercing/harsh. It causes listening fatigue, and I can't stand it for long sessions.
- I like bass, but it's not a dealbreaker or a must-have for me.
- The most important thing for me is the soundstage. Rather than feeling like I'm in a small room, I prefer the feeling of listening to live music in a cafe.
- I will be using this IEM mostly with my Android phone (an Honor Magic V3) and occasionally with my Windows PC.
Which IEM would you recommend based on this? And could you also recommend a DAC/AMP to pair with it?
For context, I currently have an LG HiFi Plus and a FiiO K1. Also, the Type-C cable on my KZ ZAS has a built-in CX31993 DAC.
I also have another question: When I connect my current IEMs to my Windows PC, I use ASIO drivers and foobar2000, which gives me much better audio quality. The difference is very noticeable.
However, on my Android phone, I usually listen via YouTube Music. Do I need to install a specific app or driver on Android (similar to ASIO on PC) to bypass the Android audio resampler and get better quality?
I'd appreciate any insights you can share on this. Thanks in advance!
