unnecessary comments from relatives?

I’ve been feeling really overwhelmed lately because a memory from when I was 19 suddenly came back to me.
A close relative looked at me while I was wearing my birthday dress and said I had “the face of a child but the body of an adult.”
The dress wasn’t even revealing. It wasn’t loose, but it also wasn’t bodycon or anything extreme. I just remember feeling so aware of myself after that. Obviously went ahead and changed right away.
I don't understand why and how men can just ruin things for us. I've not been able to wear that dress since even though i'm older now and it was my favourite.
Has this happened with you guys also- how'd you deal with it?
