Family requirements (in order):

  • Low criminal rate
  • Good health system
  • Good education system
  • Good savings (Current around 8.000-10.000EUR per year)
  • Family friendly
  • min 2 bedroom house, desirable 3 bedroom house (30-45min from job/city)

---

Plan:

  • We should decide which of the 2 countries to aim for, and I (30F) am going to start learning the language and sharpen the needed skills according to country's job ads.
  • We are planning on start applying to jobs at mid 2027 so our second kid will be old enough to relocate. It should take 6months to a year for me (30F) to find a good paying job.
  • At first I (30F) will be the income source and my husband (34M) will watch the kids until we handle the needed nursery/school situation.
  • After that my husband (34M) will start searching for a job so we can start saving.

---

Questions:

  • Which country to choose, and why?
  • What is a good household income (net) for both countries, and what is the saving potentials with normal living (home cooking, budgeting, weekend nature walks, 1 time per year visiting Greece, 1 time per year traveling abroad/vacation)?
  • Which sites are the locals using to rent houses long-term?
  • Is there any discrimination around foreigners?

We will try to relocate to the country and not looking to go back to Greece. We want to become locals and contribute to the society.

We want to maximise our savings potentials and grow to our careers, while having our children grow happily and safely.
