Traveling to Jordan as a Lebanese
Long story short, I’m a Lebanese citizen with a Canadian passport, and I’m planning to travel to Jordan to compete in a jiu-jitsu tournament in Amman on May 22 (AJP Amman)
I recently heard that airport security in Jordan may be extra cautious with Lebanese travelers, especially given the current regional situation given that I am Shia Muslim, and I’m wondering realistically whether that could create any issues at the airport.
I’m not worried about normal questioning or extra screening, but I’d like to understand what to expect. Is this likely to be a serious problem, or is it more likely that I may just be asked a few extra questions about my trip, tournament registration, hotel, return ticket, etc.?
Would appreciate hearing from anyone familiar with the process.
Much appreciated.
