Azahar stuttering and not working

I’ve been trying to play dragon quest 8 on azahar but the intro starts stuttering and whenever I try and go into the world from a town it just doesn’t load (I imported my save file from citra mmj) changing the resolution doesn’t change much same with turning off hardware shaders and I have multiple mr purple drivers installed. I’ve tried other games like starfox and yokai watch 3 and they both have similar issues is there something I’m doing wrong or are these games just annoying emulate?
