For 5 years, we’ve been rescuing injured stray cows in India — now trying to build them a safe shelter.

Hello everyone,

My name is Prashant Pathak, and I’m a civil engineer from Chhatarpur, a small city in Madhya Pradesh, India.

For the past 5 years, me and a few close friends have been independently helping stray cows in our area. What started as simply feeding hungry animals slowly turned into rescue work, medical treatment, and emergency care for injured cows abandoned on roads.

Every day here, we see cows eating plastic from garbage piles, getting hit by vehicles, suffering from infections, broken legs, and severe dehydration. Many of them are old, injured, or abandoned once they stop being “useful.”

We are not an NGO or a big organization. We are just a small group trying to help however we can.

Over the years, we have rescued and treated many cows using our own limited resources, but we’ve realized that temporary help is not enough anymore. That’s why we are now trying to build a proper shelter where around 200 stray cows can receive:

Safe shelter

Regular food and water

Medical treatment

Emergency care

It's estimated cost is around USD 20,000

We are also trying to make the project sustainable in the long term through:

Community food contribution initiatives

Biogas generation from cow dung

Organic manure production

Our goal is not profit — it is continuity, so these animals can be cared for consistently and humanely.

I know many people online are cautious about donations, so I’ve shared the Google Drive folders containing videos and photos of our actual rescue and treatment work over the years for transparency.
