Nintendo fans thinking that Nintendo is some friendly company, and not a ruthless corporation like Sony and Microsoft kind explains why they are the way they are towards Nintendo.

Nintendo fans joking about DMCA/sues and overpricing more than any other company tells you all you need to know about the point, because it proves Nintendo fans unironically are like "Whaa?! Nintendo can sue?!" And "Whaa?! Nintendo can overprice things?!" Like that's 'Nintendo is my friend' behavior for sure.

The analogy is simple: It's a kid friendly contrast to mature (horrific) decisions. Would you expect a kid who looks innocent to use and shoot a gun? Not at all. Would you expect an adult to use and shoot a gun? More likely, sure.

Microsoft and Sony are already seen as the latter from the start. Nintendo? The former. It takes less than 2 seconds to understand this.

I have not seen a single Nintendo fan say or admit this point to themselves outright without any bias, if they do, someone please reward them.
