Advice Needed Before Starting B.Tech In CSE , Please do share your perspectives

Hey everyone,

I’ll most probably start my B.Tech this August in CSE/IT from a tier 2–2.5 college. I currently have around 2–3 free months before college starts, so I wanted some advice.

What should I do during this time that would actually help later for skills, internships, and placements?

Also, how do people figure out which field they’re interested in — like web dev, AI/ML, cybersecurity, DevOps, etc.? Should I start exploring now or wait until college starts?

Would love to hear advice from seniors or people already in tech.
