Anyone actually happy with their SEO software API? Looking for one that won't break my pipeline

Ok so I've been pulling rank data and backlinks into our internal dashboard for about 18 months and the SEO software API situation has been.... rough. Currently on Semrush's API and it's fine but the credit system is killing my budget. One big client audit and I'm out for the week. Tried Ahrefs API briefly, the data is great but the pricing tier for what we actually need was way out of range.

We run weekly rank checks across 4000 keywords, monthly backlink snapshots for 12 client sites, plus on-demand SERP pulls when the content team asks. Nothing crazy.

What I really need is an SEO software API that's predictable in cost and doesn't rate-limit me into oblivion when I batch jobs at 2am. Bonus if the docs aren't garbage.

What's everyone using? Open to switching if it makes sense.
