35 y/o Male, Freelance Cinematographer from Sydney, Australia looking to start a Psych degree
I know that's a REALLY subjective question. But, I just would love some experienced opinions on how people found the psychology course (within Australia preferred, but not necessary). I'm looking to start a psychology degree &juggle it with my freelance work. The course may fundamentally change (in Aus) soon, with the exam portion being taken out &a drop in internship hours (but, I need more clarity on this)
I have a bachelors degree in media &comm (with distinction average) that I got in 2009. I originally wanted to get into psych when I started UNI, but art got its hooks in me! I am looking to MAYBE get into the psychology that is one-on-one patient related, but I would love to do more counseling work &group work also. I feel like my experience as a freelancer for so long in the film industry could provide some interesting experience for support towards people in the arts sector.. 🤷
My main concern is if I am "getting on" too much. I'm 35 at the moment &was anxious that maybe I need to pull the trigger on this soon..
What do you brilliant people on this sub think? Would you recommend me doing this or am I giving up on my dream to be a cinematographer?
I realize this may be too broad of a question &if you need some more info from me I will provide, alas, I'd love to hear experiences or advice about where my head is at! Hey, call it some pro-bono work!
