Do added typing remain on death?

Hey y'all, I'm relatively new to magic so I wanted to ask a question for a deck I'm building.

If I resurrect a non-skeleton creature with [[Xu-Ifit, Osteoharmonist]], let's say it's an [[Abyssal Gorestalker]], it becomes a skeleton and its ability is disabled. When it dies does the skeleton typing that Xu gives it go away? Or would it stay there, making it a valid target for [[Accursed Duneyard]]?
