Residency & Grants

​

Hello, I'm an incoming freshman at a college that

gave me a grant and a merit grant, but they classified me as an out of state resident due to me going to a school in a different state even though on my fasfa and everywhere else I put my actual adress including taxes. I'm gonna change my residency to in state via a residency petition form , but how will this affect these grants. My aid is already mostly covering my direct cost of attendance once I switch to in-state costs.
