Got swept, but now comes the fun part: the offseason.

With Luka here, a new owner coming in, and real pressure to build a contender, this offseason is probably the most important one the Lakers have had in years. A lot of jobs are riding on this, especially Rob’s. If he gets this right, the outlook changes fast.

I spent some time putting together this projected offseason/cap sheet, but just know this is all my own speculation. The numbers for Reaves and Rui are what I realistically think they re-sign for, and the free agent signings are around what I think their market values will be.

This whole plan also assumes LeBron re-signs, and honestly I think the ideal number would be nothing over the MLE. At 42 years old, LeBron at around $13M would be the cleanest outcome for roster building. If he wants significantly more than that, that money could probably be redirected toward another free agent instead.

Also, I kept Jake LaRavia and Vando because their trade value is probably at its lowest right now. Moving them likely wouldn’t bring back much, and waiving them would just create dead money, so I don’t really see that happening.

Dalton and Ayton are the main trade pieces here since both are essentially expiring contracts. The idea would be moving them for draft assets, not players.

And honestly, I truly believe this roster could compete. It’s younger, deeper, more athletic, and fits around Luka a lot better than the current roster does.

Curious what y’all think about this offseason plan.
