Why not build our own eBay?

If eBay is as mismanaged as they say, why not just build a new thing from the ground up that is much leaner and more efficient?

If we all of a sudden can afford to buy a 56bn company, then why not use that money to create our own ebay, especially with the huge amount of cash on hand?
