MEMO5 is launching on Kickstarter at 12pm BST — our first ever project as indie developers and honestly we can't believe we made it

I know a physical card game might not be the typical post here, but EntrepreneurRideAlong feels like exactly the right place to share this — because this is as much a business story as it is a game launch.

My friend and I have just launched our first-ever Kickstarter — MEMO5 is live today at 12pm BST, and we'd love your support! A memory card game where messing with everyone else's memory is literally how you win.

This started as a side project with a clear goal: build something real, ship it, learn the process end to end, and hopefully generate some passive income along the way. What we didn't expect was just how many layers there were to launching a physical product. Manufacturing, fulfilment, compliance, graphic design, marketing on a shoestring — every time we solved one problem, three more appeared. I'm sure a lot of people in this community know exactly that feeling.

MEMO5 is a fast card game built around one idea: you're not just trying to remember your own cards, you're peeking, swapping, and scrambling what everyone else thinks they know. There's nothing quite like watching someone confidently end the round thinking they've won, only to realise you swapped their best card two turns ago. The look on their face is precious.

Rules take about 2 minutes to explain, scales from a 2-player duel all the way up to a 10-person party, and plays anywhere from 15 to 60 minutes depending on how ruthless your group gets. Simple enough for an 8-year-old at family dinner, chaotic enough for a competitive game night.

It's been a journey getting here and we're genuinely over the moon to finally put it in front of people. Happy to talk about the business side, the process, the mistakes, all of it — that's half the reason I'm posting here.

You can find the campaign on Kickstarter page by searching MEMO5.
