What's up with Jynxzi being involved in League of Legends?

I'm an avid League player and since a week there's has been a ton of posts on r/leagueoflegends about a streamer named Jynxzi.

For example this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/1tapjxa/moistcr1tikal_on_the_jynxzi_tournament_nas_been/

From what I gathered he's a streamer who's very popular with gen Z and a generally nice, funny guy. He's been coached by Tyler1 which is huge.

My question is: Why is it such a big deal?
