This side hustle helped me leave my full-time job

Hey guys, I see loads of people talking about reselling, but I rarely see anyone mention UK online auction reselling.

I got into it properly at the start of this year and it’s honestly surprised me how much opportunity there is. It’s not some magic “get rich quick” thing, but it does feel way less saturated than a lot of the usual side hustles people talk about.

At the start, I made plenty of mistakes — overbidding, forgetting fees, misjudging resale value, and thinking I had profit when I actually didn’t. Buyer’s premium, VAT, postage, hammer price… it all adds up fast.

After a while I built a tool for myself to make it easier and stop me making the same mistakes.

It scans UK auctions ending within 48 hours, checks listings against eBay sold data, factors in fees, and works out the maximum price I should bid to still leave at least £20 profit, or whatever profit target I choose.

That was the biggest change for me. Instead of guessing or getting caught up in the auction, I had a clear number to stick to.

I’m now making around £2,500+/month from it, and the biggest limit at this point is mainly having enough money to keep buying stock because there are always more auctions and more deals to look through.

Not trying to advertise anything here — just think UK auction reselling is massively overlooked. If anyone’s curious or wants help getting started, comment or DM me 👍
