Frustrating work environment...

Hello, I didn't know what flair to use, but at the end you'll know why I chose the this one.

I was searching on google "why are all guards WEIRD!?"

It brought me to a post from another guard venting about a replacement guard for their site... It seemed to help validate their annoyance, MAYBE, if I get my frustration out in a post, I'll feel a little better too 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anyways, my venting is about a guard at the site my company does services on.

(I am writing "guard" just because I don't want the full title being in my post incase this guy possibly looks things up to see if anyone talks about him, I believe he is that nosey that he probably searches things like that...)

Anywhoo,

I am going to keep it as vague as possible & hopefully you get the gist of my frustration.

So, in the beginning I was very cordial. He would show me around the building, tell me where areas were, normal helpful stuff etc.

After the thrid week he was still following me around, he would even come find me during his rounds.

Fast forward 6 months he was still doing this almost every shift.

I was still willingly talking to him because I am too nice, but inside I was very annoyed when I'd hear him coming because I knew he was going to stop & talk... he would talk FOREVER, several times it was for over an hour which severely put me behind in MY work! Then I started noticing he was a mansplainer - Yes, a mansplainer!

I am not a man hater or anything of the sort, but this is a real thing & this guy is the definition of it!!!

ANYTHING you say, he HAS to one up you by "correcting" you & making his reply more right than yours 🤦🏻‍♀️

Finally we had an issue/complaint that we found out stemmed from HIM!

That really upset me & I think he finally got the hint because I kind of confronted him in a passive aggressive way about it.

I understand these people usually work alone, are constantly bored, they have imposter syndrome, wish they had more authority than they do & don't have anyone to talk to. I became that constant person to talk to, but I had more things to do than him & he was always running me behind in my duties!

Fast forward again, it's now been over 3 years & I think he finally got the hint because we barely talk.

He still tries, but I keep it short & sweet.

Something else he did recently that is probably why I'm so annoyed right now is I catch him staring at parts of me 👀

That truly creeps me out to no end!

There's so much more I really want to share, but I think it would give it away that I was talking about HIM & he would know! I'm worried he might find this...

He thinks he's a super guard 🫡 He knows EVERYTHING!

He acts like he has more authority than he does & I am always wondering if he does in someways, like access to systems where he can look people up & get all their info through his guard access or something!? Maybe sign into the buildings Wifi or peoples Bluetooth & look at their phones!?

I've tried looking his name up just to show my husband who I was always venting about, but there was NOTHING!

I know he does that on purpose because he's "so important," *eyeroll* he has to be secretive because he is the head gaurd for such an important site *more eyerolls*

If anyone has ever worked or know someone who works for a guard company, can you tell me if I'm just being paranoid!?
