Hello internet. My Kobo Clara BW is frozen on sleep, nothing is working.

Hello, I've seen this problem is quite common. I can't seem to find a solutions.
I've tried charging it for a long time at the wall and at the computer.
I've tried holding the button down unplugged, and plugged in.
The small led light comes on when I press the button and it also comes on when I charge it.
the back light works and is on right now while I'm watching it charge.
I tried taking the back off because I heard you can disconnect the battery and remove the sd card. Turns out the BW has a soldered memory. So I popped the batter, nothing changed?
What is the next idea? Should I just buy a new battery? They're quite expensive.
For context I was laid off and moved a while back and didn't get around to reading it for like a month or at least 3 weeks or more. Now it's stuck on sleeping, I just want to read a book outside in the warming weather. I loved this thing and want to get it fixed. It was a gift given to me a few Christmas' ago so I doubt it has warranty. I've brought this thing to work b4 and have read many, many books on it. It's been a game changer on my enjoyment of books and my ability to get a hold of the actual books I want to read.
