Idea for psychological horror game, Where in depressive episodes and anxiety panic attacks, that normal people don't perceive or understand are manifested.

Complex Idea

You play as a depressed person with anxiety and you have a group of friends and family members that are living normal lives and doing happy things like parties, graduation, camping, beaching, etc.

They wouldn't mind if you joined but your thoughts manifesting physically but not really, prevent you from socializing or leaving your room or house in escalating dark ways

An example could be your friends want to go out to the mall but they're also including a girl you like but you're not confident she likes you and you feel like you'd ruin everyone else's time. So you have to go through "all" the possible scenarios of things going wrong in your mind and then having to come up with an excuse to not go. It could be presented like a series of scenarios with multiple choices with no real way to win, With harsh imagery and contrasting dark colors.

There could also be interactions with a girlfriend with self doubt and sabotage, where she generally wants to help you but you keep isolating and pushing her and everyone else away.

I feel like it should be generally a dark and depressing game with no real good ending. Possibly ending with a suicide, running away and throwing your identity away, or having violent outbursts and being incarcerated.

I don't think it should be a visual novel, it would rather be suited towards first person, immersive 3d Exploration decision making, active action responses, Binaural audio perhaps with little bits of schizonoid paranoia thrown in. An example could be you choose the positive choice but then glitches out and becomes the isolating negative choice against your wishes but you have to submit to it anyway.
