Creators: how did US backers respond to Pledge Manager tariff charges?

Hello everyone! I'm a long-time Kickstarter creator and have previously run three successful campaigns. I am based outside of the US, but the majority of my backers in most projects are American.

The latest campaign I'm working on is the first that would encounter American tariffs on a Made-in-China product in a post-De-Minimis world. I would ideally be using DDP shipping (duties paid upfront by me), and I'm curious whether you're having success charging those tariff costs as a separate item in Pledge Manager, or if it's best to build them into the shipping price at checkout?

Do you feel backers have gotten accustomed to encountering tariff charges in Pledge Manager since this has been an ongoing issue, or does it still surprise/frustrate them when the charge comes through months after backing? It'll probably be approximately $4-$6 at current tariff rates on our most basic tier, but I know that can change depending on how tariff rates fluctuate.

Thank you for your time!
